St. Gerard Majella is known throughout the world as the patron saint of expectant mothers — a faithful intercessor who lived a life of purity, compassion, and obedience to God. During his lifetime, he was known for his miracles and his tender concern for women preparing to bring new life into the world. His story reminds us that motherhood, though filled with both beauty and challenge, is a sacred calling — one that God Himself blesses and protects.

For every expectant mother — those filled with joy and anticipation, and those facing fear or uncertainty — this prayer to St. Gerard invites peace, faith, and divine protection. As we pray, we entrust both mother and child to God’s loving care, asking for strength through every stage of pregnancy, safe delivery, and a heart anchored in hope.

23 Prayer To St Gerard For Expectant Mothers

1. Psalm 139:13–14

“For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” (KJV)

Lord, every life is precious to You, knit together with purpose and love in the womb.

Father, bless every expectant mother with peace and gratitude for the miracle within her. Let her rest in the truth that You are forming this child perfectly according to Your plan.

2. Isaiah 41:10

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God.” (KJV)

Lord, pregnancy can bring moments of fear, but Your presence dispels all anxiety.

Father, through St. Gerard’s intercession, calm every worry in expectant mothers. Let them feel Your hand upon them, strengthening and sustaining them through each day.

3. Philippians 4:6–7

“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” (KJV)

Lord, You invite us to bring every concern to You in prayer.

Father, grant mothers the grace to trust You completely with their pregnancies. Let Your peace, beyond understanding, guard their hearts and minds, bringing serenity and hope.

4. 1 Samuel 1:27

“For this child I prayed; and the Lord hath given me my petition which I asked of him.” (KJV)

Lord, You delight in granting the desires of those who seek You in faith.

Father, bless mothers who have long prayed for this child. Through St. Gerard’s intercession, fill their hearts with joy and gratitude for Your answered prayer.

5. Psalm 46:1

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” (KJV)

Lord, You are the constant source of strength for all who call on You.

Father, when pregnancy brings discomfort, fear, or fatigue, be the refuge that expectant mothers run to. Refresh their spirits, strengthen their bodies, and remind them that You are near.

6. Luke 1:45

“And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.” (KJV)

Lord, You honor faith with fulfillment and obedience with blessing.

Father, let expectant mothers believe as Mary did — trusting that Your promises never fail. Through St. Gerard’s intercession, surround them with divine assurance that You are faithful.

7. Psalm 121:7–8

“The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.” (KJV)

Lord, You are the guardian of every life and every journey.

Father, protect expectant mothers in every stage of pregnancy and during childbirth. Let Your angels encamp around them, ensuring safe delivery and abundant joy.

8. Isaiah 26:3

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” (KJV)

Lord, peace flows from hearts that trust You completely.

Father, when anxiety rises, keep every expectant mother’s mind fixed on You. Through the prayers of St. Gerard, fill them with perfect peace that sustains both mother and child.

9. John 16:21

“A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish.” (KJV)

Lord, You understand the pain and joy of childbirth.

Father, prepare expectant mothers for the labor ahead. Let them find courage in Your strength and comfort in knowing that joy will soon replace pain when new life arrives.

10. Psalm 91:11

“For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.” (KJV)

Lord, Your angels are sent as guardians and protectors for those You love.

Father, assign heavenly protection over every expectant mother and her child. Let no harm, illness, or complication come near them. Through St. Gerard’s prayer, cover them in divine safety.

11. James 1:17

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights.” (KJV)

Lord, children are the greatest gifts You entrust to families.

Father, help mothers cherish the sacred responsibility of nurturing this new life. Fill their hearts with gratitude and guide them in love and wisdom as they prepare for motherhood.

12. Psalm 127:3

“Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.” (KJV)

Lord, every child is a blessing, a reflection of Your goodness.

13. Proverbs 31:25

“Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.” (KJV)

Lord, You clothe Your daughters with strength and dignity.

14. Psalm 37:5

“Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.” (KJV)

Lord, trust is the foundation of peace and blessing.

Father, help expectant mothers surrender every detail of their journey to You — from conception to delivery. Bring all things to pass according to Your perfect will and timing.

15. Matthew 19:26

“With God all things are possible.” (KJV)

Lord, there is no situation beyond Your reach, no difficulty You cannot overcome.

Father, for those facing complicated pregnancies or fear of loss, show Your power and mercy. Through St. Gerard’s prayers, perform miracles of healing, protection, and safe delivery.

16. Psalm 34:8

“O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.” (KJV)

Lord, Your goodness is revealed to those who trust in You fully.

Father, bless every expectant mother to experience Your goodness each day — through health, comfort, and hope. Let her see Your hand at work in every heartbeat and every moment of waiting.

17. Romans 8:28

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God.” (KJV)

Lord, You weave purpose even through pain and uncertainty.

Father, when challenges arise, remind mothers that You are working everything for good. Strengthen their faith and let hope rise as they wait for Your perfect outcome.

18. 1 Peter 5:7

“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” (KJV)

20. Philippians 1:6

“He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” (KJV)

Lord, the miracle of life begins and continues through Your power alone.

Father, complete the good work You’ve begun in every expectant mother. Let her carry her child to full term and bring forth life safely in Your divine timing.

21. Ephesians 3:20

“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think.” (KJV)

22. Psalm 16:8

“I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.” (KJV)

Lord, stability comes from keeping You at the center of our lives.

Father, let every expectant mother set her eyes on You daily. Keep her faith unshaken and her heart secure, knowing You hold both her and her child in perfect care.

23. Numbers 6:24–26

“The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee.” (KJV)

Lord, every blessing flows from Your love and mercy.

Father, bless every expectant mother with health, joy, and peace. Shine Your face upon them, surround them with protection, and let their homes be filled with the warmth of Your presence. Amen.
